Ronda Gorge

Historic Ronda and its dramatic gorge. The old part of Ronda across the other side of the bridge has a variety of wonderful monuments, palaces, churches, museums and gardens.

The back door leads out to our sheltered terrace.
Utility RoomThere is a utility area in the downstairs bathroom with a washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is plenty of space here to hang coats, air clothes, etc.

External facilitiesThe door from the kitchen leads onto our sheltered terrace with easy access straight to the pool and garden. The terrace has wonderful views and a further table and chairs for alfresco dining, as well as a portable barbecue. Door from the rear bedroom opens onto our secluded balcony with spectacular views of the mountains. There are lounger chairs and further chairs for use around the pool.
Additional informationThe sitting room has a wood burning stove for cosy winter evenings, as well as oil fired radiators. Cooling fans are provided for the hot summer months. All the windows and balcony door have thermal blinds.

Further Details
Montejaque nestles in the heart of the Grazalema Natural Park, famed for its walking, birdwatching and magnificent scenery. The village is built on a rocky hillside above a fertile green valley of sunflower fields, vineyards and olive groves. It is only a few minutes drive away from the unique Pileta Caves with their prehistoric paintings. Historic Ronda with its spectacular gorge is 15 minutes drive away. There is no shortage of leisure and sports activities available in the area, including rock climbing, caving, canoeing, bicycling, horse riding and hot air ballooning over the Sierra de Ronda, (details can be obtained locally). There is a Caving and Pot-Holing Orientation Centre/Museum in the village.
Montejaque is a typical Andalucian ‘white village’ with traditional Moorish-style architecture, whitewashed cottages and narrow winding streets. It has a central square with a lovely church, banks, bakery, small supermarkets and village shops. There are plenty of local bars serving tapas, as well as restaurants. Walking is one of the most popular pastimes and there are numerous tracks starting from Montejaque scattered all over the surrounding mountains and countryside, giving ample opportunity to enjoy the spectacular scenery. The whole area is a paradise for birdwatchers and botanists – many rare birds are seen in the area and in the Spring the countryside is covered with various wild flowers. Many picturesque ‘pueblos blancos’ are only a short drive away, each with their own individual character and there are many sites of historical interest nearby, which are worth seeing.

Booking Notes
To book please email or telephone to check availability. A completed booking form together with a 10% deposit is required to secure a booking. The balance should be paid no later than six weeks before the start of your holiday.
