Mont Joli is a very comfortable place to base your holiday whatever the season. Effective, controlable central heating means that your holiday will always be warm and cosy.
Our ground floor studio is spacious and comfortable. We have a large studio room with seperate well equipped kitchen, separate toilet and separate bathroom. In addition there is a secure cycle store.

Travel
Le Havre is about 17 miles from Honfleur. Dieppe about 60 miles and Caen about 55 miles. The tunnel is about 125 miles from Honfleur. Car not really essential, bus service from Le Havre and Caen is regular. Most guests are happy to walk into town which takes about 10 minutes (15 minutes back up). If you are less able physically, it may be best to take your car - the route to town is about 3 minutes by road.

Outside our apartment is a grassy area where you can enjoy outside eating on our picnic table, sitting on the grass with a blanket or immediately outside the studio window. The area outside the window is an absolute sun trap, yet offers shade in some parts. Jane and I often sit out to enjoy the al fresco experience.

You will enjoy the tranquility of Mont Joli. The setting although close to Honfleur is semi rurual and enjoys quietness for much of the 24 hour period. Friends who proclaim their early morning rising status sometimes "sleep in" to 10.00am. So, if re-charging your batteries in a semi-rurual place near Honfleur is attractive, Mont Joli will give you the best of both worlds ...and with free parking.

Disabled Access

Restricted. We are able to offer restricted facilities for disabled and/or wheelchair access. As the apartment is ground floor it is possible to negotiate around using a wheelchair or if someone has restricted mobility the spaciousness makes such movements relatively un-restricted. We have a video/dvd of the apartment which can be used to guage accessibility. In the event of a wheelchair being necessary, we simply remove the toilet door in advance of the visit. The configuration of that part of the studio means that another access door automatically provides privacy. the bath room is usable by wheel chair but at this point in time there are no grab rails on the bathroom wall. A comprehensive access report will be available to individual guests prior to booking as we acknowledge that levels of restricted mobility will vary from person to person. As a trained nurse the owner is keen to ensure that the characteristics of the apartment will not disadvantage guests and thereby diminish the enjoyment of the holiday. For this reason we ask that anyone considering booking Mont Joli make contact with us first and we will send some video footage on DVD showing the access and its restrictions.

Noteworthy Features
:
Available all year (Honfleur has no real "season"). Apartment is situated on the ground floor. The footpath to town is only 50 meters or so away and offers a fantastic view over Honfleur. However, it is quite steep in one place. Jane and I are in our 50's and manage the path quite well daily but we do want guests to be aware that there is one part of this well surfaced public footpath which is quite steep.

Cleaning
:
As this is a studio apartment and is easy to clean we ask guests to clean as they go and when they leave. This keeps costs down and therefore the rental fee at a reasonable level. The apartment is checked at the end of each rental by our contacts in Honfleur. It is possible, however to have a cleaner if you prefer not to spend your last holiday hours cleaning. The local person will do the cleaning for you for 30 Euros. Otherwise we ask that guests leave the apartment clean and tidy and ready for the next couple to enjoy.

Honfleur is well provided for and has museums, art galleries and antique and bricolage shops a plenty. Within an hours drive is Monet's Garden and along the coast are the NormandyLanding Beaches. Bayeaux and other attractions also nearby. Great shopping in quirky gift and Calvados shops. Safe bathing beaches at Deauville - 25 minutes drive away. Up at Mont Joli you will be delighted with the tranquility as it is in a semi rural position. There is an excellent restaurant/hotel along the road on the flat and the Cote de Grace is an interesting place in her own right. Look for the old Chapelle de Grace - a 16th century church dedicated to the lives of people at sea.
